NAPBS serves to represent the interest of companies
offering employment and background screening.
NAPBS offers an opportunity for qualified companies

and reputations impacting our futures.

gives the screening industry the ability to effectively
demonstrate its competence, reliability and willingness
to adopt standards. NAPBS is the best means to
associate those companies able and willing to
conform to standards and to meet the highest expectations
of our clients and law-makers.NAPBS has adopted
By-Laws, a Code of Conduct, and a Mission Statement.
The NAPBS Mission Statement
The National Association of Professional Background
Screeners (NAPBS) exists to promote ethical business
practices, promote compliance with the Fair Credit
Reporting Act and foster awareness of issues related
to consumer protection and privacy rights within
the background screening industry.The Association
provides relevant programs and training aimed
at empowering members to better serve clients
and to maintain standards of excellence in the
background screening industry.The Association
is active in public affairs and provides a unified
voice on behalf of members to local, state and
national lawmakers about issues impacting the
background screening industry.Establishment of
Standards As educating others on the urgent need
to utilize professional background screeners,
and dispelling misinformation and unawareness
are critical issues to this industry, NAPBS will
lead the way in establishing respected and reliable
business standards for professionals working in
the background screening industry. |

The
National Credit Reporting Association
is a national trade organization of consumer reporting
agencies and associated professionals that provide
products and services to hundreds of thousands
of credit grantors, employers, landlords and all
types of general businesses. Headquartered in
Indiana, NCRA serves members in the United States
and Puerto Rico.

This
law defines the appropriate procedures for obtaining
consumer credit information and defines the responsibilities
of the users and furnishers of consumer information.
Members must also adhere to the guidelines established
in the NCRA Code of Ethics. These guidelines enable
our industry to operate only under the highest
standards of integrity. NCRA's members are committed
to solid ethical business practices. NCRA shares
its knowledge and understanding of the industry
with its members through the Annual Conference,
Regional Seminars, The Credit Reporter and The
Advocate publications.
